‌Oscillation: Massive Spring and Mass System

Yousef Jamshidi, Physics and Mathematics Undergraduate Student, Sharif University of Technology

Usually, in solving physics problems, we simplify the problem with some assumptions in order to achieve an initial insight into the problem. Then, we tend to increase the precision of the proposed model in order for it to be closer to the natural phenomenon. The oscillation of a body attached to a spring (the harmonic oscillator) is one of the most fundamental problems in physics. In this presentation, this problem is discussed without ignoring the mass of the spring.
